Dear Friends, Clients and Breeders:

Recently, a foal by Marajj was tentatively diagnosed as having a condition called Cerebellar Abiotrophy (CA). The only way a foal can be affected with this condition is if both parents are carriers of the gene. Although there is no direct genetic test for this disease, they have identified certain markers they believe indicate which horses are carriers.

We then sent a hair sample from Marajj for testing to see if he had the markers associated with the gene. The test has confirmed that he is a carrier of the condition. Carriers show no symptoms, but if bred to another carrier there is a 25% chance they can produce a foal with the condition, and 75% chance the foal will be fine.

A foal affected with CA will begin to show symptoms of head shaking, and lack of coordination. These symptoms generally appear at 6 weeks to 4 months of age and continue to worsen. There is no cure. A carrier (such as Marajj) when bred to a non-carrier will never produce a foal with CA. Therefore, we would like to encourage everyone to have their mares tested prior to breeding in order to avoid the chance of having a foal with this condition. If your mare tests positive you can then decide if you wish to take the risk in breeding, or else would like to choose a different mare to breed.

For anyone who is already expecting a foal by Marajj and may have some concern, a hair sample of the foal after it is born can quickly determine if it will develop the disease or not.

Enclosed you will find all the forms and instructions necessary for testing your mares and foals if you wish.

While we realize this is an inconvenience, it is our sincere wish for everyone who has supported Marajj to have a beautiful and healthy foal.

The beautiful filly Baila de Djoon was named Champion Junior Filly and the impressive bay 2 year old colt, Alfonzo was Champion Junior Colt!

At the first Straight Egyptian Show held in Sharjah, Albidayer Stud had great success!
Tammam Albadeia was named Champion Colt, with Imperial Baarah bringing home the title
of Reserve Champion Mare, and Gatsby CC having the Reserve Champion Stallion title!

was Champion at the International A-show in Borgloon, Belgium. We would like to give a special thank you to Haras De Djoonam , Karine and Nicole Pinchinat for the opportunity to acquire Baila De Djoon.

HG Sweet Dreams (Marajj x Zawaleen) is the most recent Marajj foal to be born.
This beautiful and feminine filly belongs to Jytte & Peter Birch of Holmgaard Arabians
in Denmark. We wish them all the success with this gorgeous young filly!

Albidayer Stud congratulates Ole Larsen of Northwest Arabians in Denmark on
the birth of this beautiful Marajj filly out of Soneteena (First Cyte x Rohara Diva).

Maharaja HDM ( x Yasminah Elamal) is the most recent foal sired by Marajj. Congratulations to Eleonore Mertens from Haras Del Mar in Spain on the birth of this beautiful and promising young colt!

A beautiful filly was born to the lovely 22 year old Polish and European Champion mare, Esklawa (Eukaliptus x Ekstaza), owned by HE Sh. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Thani of Alzobair Stud. This lovely, feminine filly, born in February, is full of all the charisma and attitude that would be expected from the cross between these two champions. Congratulations to Alzobair Stud! At the very successful and well received Arabian Breeders World Cup,
held in Las Vegas, MARAJJ was named Reserve Junior Champion Colt, and was definately a crowd favorite!

Following his impressive win in Paris, Marajj will be arriving shortly in the US to stand at stud at Brookville Arabians during the 2007 season. During the Scottsdale Show, you will have the opportunity to see this beautiful young stallion more closely at presentations at Brookville Arabians. Congratulations to MARAJJ , for being named 2007 WORLD RESERVE JUNIOR CHAMPION COLT. Not only did he easily win his catagory, which was thought by many to be the toughest of the show, but he also won the award for BEST HEAD JUNIOR MALE. This exciting young colt created quite a stir! Additionally, two other Albidayer Stud stallions were in the Top Ten in their catagories. Psyrasic was Top Ten Junior Colt and SC Dagash was Top Ten Stallion.
