Abu Dhabi IAHC 2024 - GCAT Abu Dhabi Edition

This year's Abu Dhabi International Arabian Horse Championships was held for the first time at the impressive Etihad Arena on Yas Island and in conjunction with the Global Champions Arabians Tour (GCAT). Albidayer Stud made the trip to the Nation's capital with three fillies to compete on day one and the Silver World Champion Mare Basmah Albidayer competing on day two. The new walkway to get to the venue from the stables was going to be a well trodden path by the end of the show!

Asalah Albidayer (Arjuwan Albidayer x Ajayib Albidayer) was first up, and with a very respectable score of 91.36, placed 4th overall in the Yearling Fillies Section C. Next into the arena for the2 Year Old Fillies Section A was the little superstar in the making, Raneem Albidayer (Raoud Albidayer x Rania Albidayer). This gorgeous filly also scored  91.36, finally placing 5th in the class.

Malikah Albidayer (Raoud Albidayer x AJA Athena) was the next up on this first day of competition. The last of the three fillies owned by Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi scored 92.29 in the 3 Year Old Fillies Section A. This placed Malikah 2nd to TM Bella and guarenteed her place in the championships on the Sunday.

The grace and beauty of Basmah Albidayer (Fadi Al Shaqab x Bidayer) once again charmed everyone inside the Etihad Arena on day two. In the Mares 7+ Years Old Section B she scored unnanimous 20s from the judges in Type as well as in Movement. With an impressive 93.50 overall, Basmah claimed the class win and booked herself a place in the Senior Mares Championship.

Sunday was championship day. Malikah Albidayer was the first up for Albidayer Stud. Though she did a great job in the ring with handler Raphael Curti, it was not to be her day in the spotlight. With three votes from the judges she was finally placed 5th in the Junior Fillies Championship and it was now up to Basmah to bring home a medal for the team.

Like the true champion she is, Basmah Albidayer did exactly that. To the delight of her owner and supporters, Basmah had once again shown her quality and lived up to her pedigree.
